Hiring Announcement

We are proud to announce the hiring of Mrs. Melanie Brown as one of our first grade teachers for the 2010-11 school year. She will join Mrs. Satern in teaching one of the two first grade classes. Melanie has a degree in elementary education from Western Oregon University. She worked as an elementary teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Gervais and then took time off to stay at home and raise her children. Mrs. Brown subsequently home schooled her daughters for a few years – both of whom are now at St. Mary in 4th and 8th grades. Most recently Melanie has been subbing as a teacher in the area and has substituted for us many times this year. We are looking forward to Mrs. Brown joining us full time. Welcome aboard Melanie!

CFCA Sponsorship

Many thanks to the St Mary families that recently signed up to sponsor a child through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. Your sponsorship tells your young friend that they matter. They're worth it. They can dream. They can achieve.

Sponsoring a child from another country is a wonderful way for your own children to learn first hand about another culture. A relationship of hope and encouragement is nurtured through prayer and letters. Your child will enjoy receiving personal letters and photos from your sponsored friend and your friend will love to hear from you.

There are over 19,000 children and their families waiting for a sponsor to come into their lives. If your family has not known the joy of one-to-one sponsorship, and you are able to help, please call Carol Tabor at 503-769-2300.
